Text Box: Meet PETE!
Here's a riddle for you: What's six feet tall, a little screwy on top and entirely recyclable?

The answer is me! I'm Recycling PETE™, the mascot of the National Association for PETE Container Resources (NAPCOR). I travel across the country, teaching people the importance of PETE plastic recycling.

Everyone has PETE bottles at home. PETE, or polyethylene terephthalate, is used to make soft drink bottles, peanut butter jars, juice bottles, salad dressing containers, tennis ball containers, and many other products. You can find out if a bottle is made of PETE by looking for the on or near the bottom. After you have identified PETE plastic, don't forget to recycle it! Your recycled PETE bottles can be transformed into T-shirts, sweaters, athletic shoes, carpet, car parts, pillows and new bottles.
